Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

On the pour a cloudless deep mahogany to almost walnut in color, the head hefty in size with a bubbly texture, a winsome light tan in color, the lace forms a frothy sheet to cover the glass. Nut like sweetness with a hint of caramel, fresh and clean with the start sweet and nicely malted, top is skimpy in feel. Finish is bruising in its acidity, the hops mellow in their spiciness with the aftertaste droughty, drinkable, but not any thing special.

An easy-to-quaff beer. Up front, can’t taste much behind the crisp carbonation. Sweet and roasty malts come out in the middle. A little “twangy” bitterness (Tettnanger?) in the finish; I yearned for more. Toffee sweetness builds over time. Overall, light, clean and fresh-tasting, albeit a little sweet; a good session beer.

A good brown ale. I don't think I liked it asa much as the Sam Smith's, but still worth a try or two.

Pours deep copper/red with a minimal off-white head. Cerealy, caramely aroma. Body is very toasty and sweet, with lots of caramel and a bit of nuttiness. I could drink several of these.

Light, slightly hazed, reddish amber appearance, moderate head formation. Malty, chocolate and raisin aroma with a touch of woody dryness. Medium bodied, moderately well carbonated, sweet and imitally syrupy, turning nutty, grainy toasted in the second half, witha slight bitter bite in the finish.

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium orange-brown. Aroma is moderately malty (nutty, caramel), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly acidic, moderately bitter, lightly sweet. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
