Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

Semi-cloudy tan. Mild aroma if hops & sweet caramel malt. Honey-nut-malt taste with soft edges and hints of aplle and grape. Soft taste, a little too soft.

Pours a brownish amber color w/ medium sized semi creamy froth. Froth reduces at a moderate pace to a dusty canopy w/ spattered islands. Aroma is slightly roasted w/ malts. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A mellow roasted brown w/ a clean palate. Flavors are lightly roasted w/ a defined bakers cocoa showing nicely. Finish is crisp w/ minimal souring.

Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with a tan head. Sweet malty with a light nutty malt character, cherry and a light woodiness. Thin body with no real etoh.

12 oz bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Reddish brown color. Good sweetish aroma with lemon, honey and some chocolade. Honey, minerals and some chocolade malt in the flavor. Biscuity and chocolatey finish. Somewhat watery and disappointing flavor.

Brown pour into dimpled mug. Aroma is slightly roasty with hint of dark caramel. I’m typically not a fan of brown ales, but this one mildly surprised me. Still not exactly a big taste winner though. The toasted flavor is muted enough and doesn’t overwhelm the senses. Malt is present but not cloying. Finish is compact and purposeful. It still won’t be one I’ll actively search for again.
