Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

Pours amber in color with an off white head that is quite well retained. Bland aroma hinting of some malt. Flavor is likewise thin and has a suggestion of chocolate. Pretty boring and unremarkable. Although I think this is the kind of ale you could drink all night without too many ill effects the next day.

I find it hard to believe that I had not rated this one previously. The body pours a reddish brown with some copper at the edges. The thin head is light khaki. The aroma is malty and sweet with some caramel and pecans. The taste is cheap tobacco and bubblegum. There is also some bread crust. Light and thin, this is sweet for my tastes. Highly carbonated.

Appearance, a clear, bright red color, no "brown" to be found, with a smallish, but nicely retained head. Aroma: nutty, flinty, with hints of cocoa and cream, but arid afterwards. A large charge of hops hops right off, and carbonation, but it swiftly fades. Palate is tasty and tangy, decent texture, but after that problems occur. Too light in the body, too thin. The initially rewarding mouthfeel now rings very shallow.. I can drink the rest of this bottle, but I won’t be enjoying it much!

Pours transparent mahogany color, small tan head dissipates quickly. Nondescript malt. Plain and harmless, but nothing stands out here.

Deep brown beer with a small, beige, quickly diminishing head; small, firm bubbles. Aroma is malty with barely a hint of caramel and raisin. Flavor is predominantly malty with slight nuttiness and virtually no bitterness at all; that’s it, nothing else. Medium body, slightly slick. Very plain and nondescript; hardly any complexity at all.

Pours thin brown, thin head. Malts are weak, some caramel, floral hops. Watery & an odd sourness.

Some roasty malt aroma. Darker shade of red for body color. Small tan head that diminished to a layer over top of beer that looked like a bacteria sample under a microscope. Some lacing. Flavor was lacking somewhat watery. Definently smooth easy drinking beer, smooth on palate.

Part of a mixed 12 pack. Pour is a dark copper color and aroma is an almond nut sort of thing. Flavor is mostly caramel with a little bit of red fruit at the end. I would agree that this is a little thin but put next to a newcastle and this will win. Not that that is saying a lot.
