Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

BOTM Cask. Clear ruby, average head. Aroma of sweaty hops and roasty malt. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. The roasty malt dominates the picture, with apricots and soapy hops simmering on top. A pleasant enough brown ale, well above average.

I’m a bit shocked at the relatively low scores for this one. I loved it. Pours a clear brown/amber color with a small ivory head...no lacing. Aroma is odd when cold, but it takes on an excellent malty dark chocolate scent as it warms. Flavor is great...malty, nutty, wtih a bit of chocolate and coffee. Some hops, but just a touch. Palate is slick and smooth, with just a touch of fiz. Overall this is VERY drinkable brown, one of my favorites in the style, and an excellent session beer.

Poured a deep red/brown with an attractive light tan head about half an inch thick that stayed around and left a nice lacing. I loved the aroma, but recognize that it’s definitely a personal thing - chocolate, caramel, and molasses. Malt was dominant in the taste, with cocoa, caramel and nuttiness. Nice full body with pleasant aftertaste. A very nice surprise from the beer club.

Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of earthiness, carmel, chocolate and a hint of nuts. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, light chocolate, nuts and a hint of earthiness with a smooth bittersweet finish.

This beer offers a mild roasted nut fragrance as its aroma. It is the color of moist Georgia clay and has a decent white head. This beer has a nice perky flavor that reminds one of baked pie dough. Even though this beer is relatively thin it has the ability to keep its taste on the palate for a healthy amount of time.

Bottle->honker: pours a white creamy, lasting head that exhibits good lacing atop a cloudy dark orange body. Aroma of root beer, sweet taste, medium body, astringent finish. Ok but not great.

Smells spicy, faintly of chocolate. Pours a deep murky brown with a small offwhite head. Taste is creamy with chocolate malts, slightly bitter with a pleasantly watery finish. A very enjoyable brown.

Browned bourbon caramel sauce nose. Brown color with hints of amber, foamy medium head. Soft chocolate and mild roasted sweet caramel with minimal bitter notes. medium carbonation and body, finish is malty sweet. Nice easy drinking brown ale packed with flavors.
