Commercial Description:
That time of year when the day seems to fade away. Drifting further into the darkness with each passing day. Yes, we’re letting loose, from the noose (spiced beers), that’s kept us hanging about. FADE TO BLACK – our non-traditional, kick-you-in-the-ass ale that mirrors the available sunlight from October thru March. The name will stay the same (as well as the packaging) each year, but the style won’t.

Pours a deep brown to black with a light brown head. Aroma is roast chocolate barley, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, barley, licorice. Medium palate nice and creamy mouthfeel with roast and bitterness in the finish. A pretty nice winter stout.

Dark black with a small but firm tan head. Smokey roasted malt aroma with a touch of cocoa. Dark coffee and chocolate flavor with dark roasted malt. Full bodied with a long bittersweet finish.

Dark and almost black with a small tan head that soon becomes blotchy. Smoke and some dark chocolate in the aroma as well as some funky fruity something. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, milk. Sweet, chocolaty, and a tad bit smoky describes this beer. Easy to drink and smooth.

It doesnt say it’s a stout on the bottle, but after you pour it and inhale those dark chocolate aromas, you know for sure what you’re about to enjoy. I tasted notes of coffee with milk and roasty nuts. This is a worthy addition to Left Hand’s line-up, and an enjoyable stout.

Fruity, bready and coffee aroma. Totally balck. medium on the palate and i a little oily and velvety. A little sweet. Hops are not that detectable, just faintly bitter on the finish. The malt flavor is perfect combination of coffee, cocoa, molasses and deep roasted malts. Unbelievable for the price. Great value.

Pour is a black with a tan head. Aroma is a strong roasted malt with some coffee and chocolate. Flavor is again lots of roasted malt with some coffee and dark chocolate. Just about everything your are looking for in a stout is in this one. A very excellent example of the style.

Pitch black with a khaki head. Deep roasted chocolate and roasted malts on the nose. Very nice thickness with a good roasted malt flavor that’s balanced by the chocolate quite well.

12oz from keg and barrel in plano. Nice to see this since I didn’t even know it existed. Pours black with a nice stable small creamy tan head. Nose is nicely malted with a touch of chocolate. Taste is chewy, roasty and chocolaty, gotta say this is a pretty good, balanced foreign stout.
