Smells like caramel beef stew. I’d elaborate, but it would really be just about levels of ingredients...definitely carrots, lots of beef stock, tomato, celery and maybe some seppered sweet potatoes...hey I didn’t say it was a good beefstew. Fairly vegetal with some mild decaying citrus notes I’ve only ever noticed in NG Cherry Stout. Has a muddy, ruddy brown color and a compressed pinky sized tan head. Tastes a bit like beef stew. None of that fusel bock flavor/aroma. Very little sweetness. Malty V-8 really. Major dissapointment.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma is very vegetal with a strong cooked carrot aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Pours a hazy brownish-red with a moderate off-white head. Flavor has a strong cooked carrot flavor that I just can’t get past. Hints of caramel and a light nutty finish. This one is definitely not for me.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma was sweet and sugary. Taste wass lots of yeast and malt. Decent amount of sweetness all the way through. A pretty even palate. Good, but nothing special.

From the Columbus tasting, shared by moejuck! Dark copper/brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. The flavor was earthy, with a bit of smoke and some caramel malt. Smooth carbonation over the palate.

Murky brownish copper, with a nice thick beige head. Aroma is apple butter with a touch of sourness. Flavor is bark bread and peppery hops, plus some appley, fruity notes - maybe plum, too, and then a nice woodsy note. And then there’s alcohol, Lordy, theres alcohol. The alcohol heat threatens to ruin the entire experience. Purchased at Greenlife, Ashevile.

Aroma of chocolate and earthiness. Flavor was a lot of sweetness. Almost too sweet and not very hoppy. This was also very thin and watery. Not too bad I never seem to be that big of a fan of bocks of doppelbocks though.

Bottle: Columbus tasting shared by moejuck. Dark brown pour with a small light tan head. Aroma was earthy, and sweet. Flavor, sweet, caramel, chocolate, some spice, and a earthiness to the finish. One of the better left hand beers I’ve had.

750ml bottle shared at Columbus 2.0 tasting by moejuck! - Thanks! - Pours caramel colored with a short offwhite head that stays well and laces some. Aromas of caramel, chocolate and lots of earthy notes. Flavor is quite earthy but also is accented with caramel and chocolate and some odd light spice on the finish. Quite sweet all the way through. Pretty well carbonated and medium bodied. Not too bad..
