Bottle, 7.2%. The aroma is mostly metallic, but also slightly smoky, a little unpleasant. Hazy red colour, small tan head. The flavour is distinctly smoky, but not overpowering. Toned down a bit by some maltiness. Cow stable aftertaste. Medium carbonation and OK mouthfeel.

Bottle @ Beer Exposed, September 2008.
Pours lightly hazy brown with a small, creamy, beige, film head. Good duration. Sweet aroma, rye bread, caramel and cinnamon. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has liquorice, caramel, sweet malts, but a bit of a hops balance. Okay for the type.

750ml bottle-pours a big foamy tan head and amber/orange-brown color. Aroma is smoky/smoked bacon, medium/dark malt-caramel/chocolate, spicy/woody. Taste is nice smoky/peat that’s there and balanced, not over powering, medium/dark malt-caramel/chocolate/licorice, some sweet, secondary spicy/woody hops. Easy drinking, smooth, very likable. OK/mild carbonation.

Bottle (2005)… RBSG 07… Cloudy dark mahogany lager with a small, frothy, off-white head. Great retention. Caramel, breadsy aroma with light notes of toasted cashews, smoke and brown sugar. Good malty sweetness, balanced oddly by moderate piney, grapefruit bitterness and light, citric acidity. Medium bodied and sticky with lively carbonation. Mildly sweet, woodsy, lightly smoked finish. Thanks to boboski for providing the bottle (which I took to the RBSG, but could find no takers other than myself)!

Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin off-white head. Sweet, authentic dark caramel malty aroma with good German lager yeasty character. Body starts with a nice viscous caramel sweetness and good lager yeasty flavor with a decently balanced, but slightly tart finish.

Bottle shared by argo0. Murky burgundy purple colored body. Huge nose of plum, tobacco, brandy, sherry, wood, etc. Sharp, hoppy, brandy and sweet bourbon, tobacco and plum richness, with some sharp oak or some other sort of harshness in the finish. Quite good, surprisingly.
