335ml bottle (Poseidon, Helsinki, Wheat Beer Weeks 2008)
Hazy deep orange. Sweet wheaty aroma - some weetabix, some cornflakes. However, more disturbingly, there’s tinned artichoke hearts in brine (as sold in Lidl). A bit fizzy. Even more tinned artichoke in the taste. Caramel and black treacle too, particularly in the finish. Pretty thin and too sweet. I don’t know why US brewers seem to have such trouble making wheat beers, but at least this wasn’t as bad as the Avery abomination.

Bottled (bottled on 25.04.07, Angleterre Wheat beer weeks)
Hazy orange color, good white head. Ryeish hoppy nose. Grassy hoppy flavor. Low-carbonation. Wheaty and fruity backbone. I expected a bit more from Left Hand.

Bottle 0.355 l. Hazy yellow golden, fizzy head. Nose has sweet melon and oranges with a bit of gummybears. Flavor is intensely sweet with Tropicana style fresh orangejuice, sweet candy and some melon and berries. Maybe some hops in the aftertaste. Pretty far from german hefe’s, but that was expected from American brew. Not very subtle and a bit sodapoplike compared. Fizzy carb.

Overly carbonated, taste is dominated by orange and coriander flavors. Sweet. Not sure why like four people in a row said banana and clove... I didn’t really get that. In any case, I generally like Left Hand, but this one is sub-par.

Light golden in appearance, goes down smooth like a Hefe should, head dissipates quickly. I’s say that is is worth getting in a sampler but not worth getting by itself.
