sfontain (496), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 28, 2008 Golden color; slightly hazy; virtually no head. Aroma yeasty with hints of wheat. Flavor very yeasty as well, with nice wheat in the finish; maybe a little bit tart and almost a tad grainy; very light bitterness. Thin body and slightly watery; but also a little frothy. Innocuous and forgettable, but pleasant to drink; pretty much not bad.
SuperDave70 (641), Arizona, USA Jul 16, 2008 Light, cloudy gold pour with a medium sized foamy head. Light aroma of grain, yeast and banana. Grain and citrus flavor, with a slightly bitter finish. Highly drinkable and refreshing, though not the best example of the style. DragonStout (1138), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2008 Poured golden with a small white head. The nose was cloves, spices, and bananas.Flavor was bland.Nothing really popped here.Finished off leaving a strange aftertaste in my mouth. scraff (1612), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jul 9, 2008 Hazed gold, fizzy white head. Soft vanilla citrus nose lays on a wheaty banana clove base. Crisp citric banana spice flavors round to a light bitter ending. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Decent and pretty refreshing... Homer321 (17), Rockledge, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2008 Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass, swirled last 3oz and dumped in glass. Aroma is dominated by orange and banana, very pleasing. Appearance? It’s a cloudy hefe! Dark straw in color. Mouthfeel is nice with a high levels of carbonation as appropriate to style. Poured a wonderful head that dissipated in about a minute. Overall taste is decent. I like a little more orange tatse in my hefes. It tatses like it could be fermented slightly higher in temperature to bring this out. Overall, a very nice american hefe, especially for national distribution in a bottle. Linus_Stick (1470), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 A so so attempt at the style. I don’t think American brewers every really nail this style, but this came close. Aroma was nice. Banana and a little clove. Pour was a thick dirty gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was wheaty and grainy with a slight yeast bite. Thick and bubbly with a bite on the sides of the tongue. Not as full or carbonated as true German hefe but nice.
