The head is small, brown and creamy but not long lasting. The body is black. A strong taste of coffee and malt, bitter and with a long duration. The finish is a little bit sweeter and creamy. The body is very heavy and creamy without much carbonation. A really great Imperial Stout! BMan1113VR (2884), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2009 12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours a dark brown with small head, looks thin for an imperial. Smell is brown sugar, fig, maple syrup. Taste is sweet chocolate malt up front with a roasty bitterness in the finish that is balanced by a nice hop presence. Medium body which is definitely thin for the style. Not bad, but doesn’t compare to some others. Bier brauen (214), Bremerton, Washington, USA

Especially since I bought it for $2.75 @ 22 oz. bottle on a close out. It’s strong (it’s affecting my typing). Lots of chocolate flavor, sweet but not cloying. I’m liking the mouthfeel. Did I say it was chocolatey? bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Pour is as expected with a nice thick rich appearance and a lighter than typical tan head. Good retention. Aroma is charcoal, faint whiskey, roasted notes, and dark fruit. It is not overpowering and is very pleasant. This beer is as smooth as silk and feels wonderful in the mouth. Flavor is on the sweet side with dark fruit, being dominant, whiskey, wood, and roasted notes. Alcohol was evident but not as much as expected. A super beer!
