| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2009 12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours a dark brown with small head, looks thin for an imperial. Smell is brown sugar, fig, maple syrup. Taste is sweet chocolate malt up front with a roasty bitterness in the finish that is balanced by a nice hop presence. Medium body which is definitely thin for the style. Not bad, but doesn’t compare to some others. Bier brauen (217), Bremerton, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Updated: Dec 8, 2009I’m thinkin’ this is a very nice imperial stout. Especially since I bought it for $2.75 @ 22 oz. bottle on a close out. It’s strong (it’s affecting my typing). Lots of chocolate flavor, sweet but not cloying. I’m liking the mouthfeel. Did I say it was chocolatey? bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Pour is as expected with a nice thick rich appearance and a lighter than typical tan head. Good retention. Aroma is charcoal, faint whiskey, roasted notes, and dark fruit. It is not overpowering and is very pleasant. This beer is as smooth as silk and feels wonderful in the mouth. Flavor is on the sweet side with dark fruit, being dominant, whiskey, wood, and roasted notes. Alcohol was evident but not as much as expected. A super beer! Well done Left Hand! bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA

SMells of roasted malts and sweet caramel and molasses. Taste was similar with milky chocolate added. So tasty. pretty carbonated. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Pours dark brown, but able to see light through it and it has a small off-white head. The aroma is smooth, roasty (light for style), spicy and some hops. Medium body that is very light for the style with some fairly sharp, but unobtrusive, carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth roasted malt, some vineous traits and a bit of char on the finish. This is an enjoyable, but comes across much smaller than most impy stouts.
