Commercial Description:
Imperial Stout is a silky smooth, very flavorful black brew. It is a traditional style of strong stout originally brewed in Britain for export to St. Petersburg, Russia. The malty sweetness of the beer is tempered by a medley of roasted malt and the aggressive use of hops. A long conditioning time gives the brew time to mellow and mature. The beer is not filtered, allowing every subtlety and nuance to be enjoyed.

[1745-20081002] 650mL bottle. Grainy coffee ground dipped bread aroma with a dark roasted malt undertone. Dark dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Roasty coffee malt flavour has lots of roast and wood. Full body. Very nice stout, roasty and heavy.

Bottle. Powerful sweet chocolate and malt aroma. Near black body, small brown head. Full bodied flavor of medium sweet chocolate, fruit, roasted malt. Alcohol content is apparent but not intrusive.

An almost black pour with a nice head that dwindled down to a fine lace. Nose was of malt and caramel. Nice thick mouth feel with coffee, chocolate, malt and molasses. Heavy in the mouth. Very subtle on the back end. A really nice beer for a cold night!

Bottle at Sorbone, Bromma, Stockholm. I´ve had a lot of great stouts last few months, this one dos´nt live up to my positive memory of it. Lots of chocolate aroma and flavor, but nothing else! To simple to deserve a higher rating.

A typical and boring imperial stout. Aroma was very nice. Strong notes of chocolate fill the nose. Pour was a flat thick black with no head or bubbles. Taste was thick and chewy chocolate with a just a medium alcohol burn. Bitter chocolate malt with a creaminess. No carbonation which really hurts this beer. This is like 95% of all the impys out there.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses, and some alcohol. Flavor is strong at first of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses. Finishes slightly bitter with a little alcohol warming.

Botella. Deep dark brown almost black colour. Medium head. Chocolate coffee and roasty malt in the aroma. Very good creamy good filling mouthfeel. The flavour has choco powder, roasted malt and coffee, dark fruits and a pleasant bitterness. Roasty choco long lasting finish. Nice brew indeed. Thanks a lot Pat from Soumi.

Dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is rich of roasty malt, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes rich and smoooooth. Nice balance of roast to a sweet cocoa and molasses blend. Very little coffee and perhaps some dark fruity hints. Simple, yet very well done and delicious. Thanks to Shyam.
