Commercial Description:
Imperial Stout is a silky smooth, very flavorful black brew. It is a traditional style of strong stout originally brewed in Britain for export to St. Petersburg, Russia. The malty sweetness of the beer is tempered by a medley of roasted malt and the aggressive use of hops. A long conditioning time gives the brew time to mellow and mature. The beer is not filtered, allowing every subtlety and nuance to be enjoyed.

A typical and boring imperial stout. Aroma was very nice. Strong notes of chocolate fill the nose. Pour was a flat thick black with no head or bubbles. Taste was thick and chewy chocolate with a just a medium alcohol burn. Bitter chocolate malt with a creaminess. No carbonation which really hurts this beer. This is like 95% of all the impys out there.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses, and some alcohol. Flavor is strong at first of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses. Finishes slightly bitter with a little alcohol warming.

Botella. Deep dark brown almost black colour. Medium head. Chocolate coffee and roasty malt in the aroma. Very good creamy good filling mouthfeel. The flavour has choco powder, roasted malt and coffee, dark fruits and a pleasant bitterness. Roasty choco long lasting finish. Nice brew indeed. Thanks a lot Pat from Soumi.

Dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is rich of roasty malt, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes rich and smoooooth. Nice balance of roast to a sweet cocoa and molasses blend. Very little coffee and perhaps some dark fruity hints. Simple, yet very well done and delicious. Thanks to Shyam.

From bottle. Part of Dayton Beer Tasting event. Pours dark brown with short tan head. Aromas are primarily coffe and sweet malt. Medium mouthfeel with more coffee and chocolate flavors. Easy drinking but not an elite beer.

12 oz bottle from Plaza Liquor in Tucson. Not super black, but dark with a decent tan head that faded to a ring. Aromas were a bit metallic otherwise roasty and chocolate. Flavor was better. Burnt malts and bitter chocolate flavor. Medium sweetness with a finish that was pretty alcoholic. Good stuff.

Nov 22, 2008. Bottle. Pours very dark brown, with a thin tan head, good lacing. Smells of coffee grounds and toffee, just a hint of molasses. Velvety smooth, medium body, somewhat thin for the style. Tastes like coffee and dark chocolate, but not too sweet. Drinkable and well balanced.
