Commercial Description:
Imperial Stout is a silky smooth, very flavorful black brew. It is a traditional style of strong stout originally brewed in Britain for export to St. Petersburg, Russia. The malty sweetness of the beer is tempered by a medley of roasted malt and the aggressive use of hops. A long conditioning time gives the brew time to mellow and mature. The beer is not filtered, allowing every subtlety and nuance to be enjoyed.

Dark brown with a grey head. Strong aroma of coffee, oil and dark chocolate. Nice bitterness in the flavours that are full of coffee, liquorice and alchol. The palate however is a bit weak with a medium-body and a thin texture.

12 oz. into sniffer. Near black pour that looked thin coming out of the bottle. Not much for a head, and it fades fast and is a dirty light white color. Aroma of chocolate, hops, vanilla, molasses, raisins, and booze. Flavor is pretty chocolaty with some nice smooth vanilla notes that are balanced out by some nice bitter hop notes and an alcohol warmth on the finish. Pretty thin on the palate - medium bodied - for the style, but still smooth with soft carbonation. Overall: good brew, not extremely unique but definitely solid.

The chosen one for my 1500th rating. 355ml bottle from Utobeer in London. Almost devil-black in body appearance. Moderate beige head leaving fair lacing on the glass. Delicious aroma of plain chocolate and cocoa. Initial flavour of sweet, dark fruits and berries being a bit distracted by herbs and dry cheese. An alcohol touch beneath. Full bodied (19.08.2008).

I’ve never been that impressed with Left Hand brews. They seem either overly complex or overly simple. There’s no middle ground. On the other hand, it’s easily available. Given a choice, I’d drink something else.

Murky brown with a brown slowly dissipating brown head. Aroma of molasses, roasted malt, alcohol, coffee, caramel and chocolate. Thick body taste of alcohol, molasses, chocolate, wafer and sweet malts. Semi-sweet finish with some alcohol burn.

Bottle 35,5 cl. POurs pitch black with a small brown head and a sugary sweet aroma. THe flavor is mainly creamy sweet chocolate with a velvetty mouthfeel. The finish is a great bitter with lots of notes. a standard imperial stout with a great finish

Bomber I’ve had for a while. I think I got this in Texas in December or it came from Trade. its unclear. Either way shared with my GF Cyn, for the final beer of the current night. Pours black with a nice 1 finger light brown head. Nose is chocolatly with sweet malt and a bit of roastiness. There is a crap load of chocolate in here, its close to chokolat but not anything close to as good as that. This is a pretty decent impy though.

Drinking liquid chocolate - yet there is no chocolate in this. You can’t taste alcohol a bit. Pours dark black with brown head that recedes, but leaves lacing all over. Creamy, smooth, and malty.
