Nose hints at dark malts, chocolate, licorice, plums, and a warming alcohol touch. Medium-bodied, flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and dark fruits. A bit hot initially which toned down after a few minutes. Quite good. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 28, 2007 650 ml. Nearly opaque chocolate with a medium-sized and lasting head. Aroma is zesty citrus drenched in molasses and milk chocolate. Flavor is spicy-earthy cafe mocha, caramel, and molasses covering a peppery-sweet orange. Some light alcohol flavors are blended nicely so as not to dominate. Medium-bodied and smooth palate make this one dangerously quaffable. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma – Deep dark malts with spices a very good aroma
Appearance – Dark brown no head looked very clear from what I can see.
Flavor – Rich deep dark malts with a good high alcohol flavor. Light with the hops. I expected more from this for an imperial
Palate – Rich flavors on the mouth it was good but not a true Impy Stout.
Overall –This was missing the high amount of hops to be a true impy stout. A great strong stout with good flavors. Will age well but will never be the winner of awards missing the hops in the flavors.

Poured a deep opaque brown. Low carbonation, minimal tan head. Not a lot of aroma, mostly chocolate malt. Medium to full bodied. Plenty of roasted malt flavors, some malt sweetness. Enough hop bitterness to balance the malt, but not much bitterness. A little bit of a sour twang. Long dry malt finish with cocoa.
This didn’t really do a whole lot for me. Crit (2407), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
