The aroma has a very high concentration of Alcohol and the taste over power you with its chocolate goodness. nick76 (2694), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2007 The aroma has chocolate, dark toasted malt, and toffee. The appearance is dark red, brown with a medium head. The flavor is like the aroma but with lot of bitterness from what I can assume are hops. The palate is thick and chewy. There is a lot of character to this beer but it has an astringent bitterness that reduces it’s quality. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Black opaque colored, vanishing beige head. Strong roasted coffee aroma with licorice, some vanilla and oak, conveniently mild alcohol comes up also. Near full bodied. Flavor is even better than aroma: strong and smooth coffee and roastiness dominate, licorice, hoppy bitterness and some chocolate also there. Aftertaste lasts with mild alcohol and sweet caramel, roastiness too. Miksu (2241), Jyväskylä, Finland
