Fruity, floral nose with orange peel and grapefruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange, grapefruit, mandarin and caramel. Nice citrussy hop character, but not really bitter, with a fairly short finish. Balanced, tasty and nice. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 5/7/1999. Color is a bright deep gold with a lot for sediment flouting around in it. Carbonation and head are low. Aroma is a nice citrus hop scent. Taste is hoppy and bitter. it starts with a light medium body and a good hop flavor that comes on right at the start. This goes down with a crisp and refreshing feel. The finish is a light malt flavor followed by a nice hop flavor and a good hop bitterness. Although it is a very well balanced and a good tasting Pale Ale the amount of sediment is way too high for me. I would rate it higher if there were less sediment or if it wasn’t so like chunky. Now I think I smell chocolate in the olfactory. Mild creamy carbonation. Finish is hops all the way, not as much as IPA but certainly leaves a bitter lasting finish that attacks for a few minutes.....
