Commercial Description:
Jackman's American Pale Ale is brewed true to the style - medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing, with plenty of hop flavor and hop aroma. It's noticeable hop bitterness is contrasted by the spicy and floral characteristics of the highest quality hops grown in the U.S.

Pours slightly hazy golden/amber with a nice frothy white head. Light malty sweetness, and generous piney hops in the aroma. Flavor fallows the aroma nicely, with a hint of nuttiness in the background. Palate is light/medium, bitter, and well-balanced.

Bottle. Aroma pine and citrus, nice hoppiness. Poured hazy amberish hue. Flavor was good the hops kept this lively. Palate was lively and crisp and finishes cleanly. Overall a solid offering. Gotta love those variety cases.

Pours honey colored w/ a full semi creamy froth. Aroma of malted grapefruit citrus dust. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are so well blanced. You get perfect grapefruit rind backed up by ample caramely malts. Goes down so nice. A refined style. Finish is moderatly bittered. I detect a bit of sulpher. I could drink this one all night.

Tap @ FS DT HOU: Pours a very pale watery cleap yellow color. Good sized watery head, diminishing. Very hoppy aroma, the acidic kind, but not much else. Balanced malty, hoppy taste. Sweet & bitter and a semi-sweet clean aftertaste. Kinda watery & not too complex, but tasty.

Bottled BB 06-26-06. Pours a hazy orangey reddy gold. Visible sediment in bottle? Very excitable carb which pours to leave a rocky white head. Little lacing. My first immpessions are a beer far from its best. There is a definite acetic quality to this beer that makes me think its a bit old or maybe a bad bottle. Definitely has the making of something nice though. Citrussy orange aroma, with apples too. very little malt at this stage. Flavor has that definite vinegar tang which spoils what seems to be a well hopped, crisp refreshing beer. Mouthfeel is nice. I would like to try this again if its in better nick but i wont be reaching for it again. RE-RATE - Tasted fresh from the brewery at at a festival and it was tons better - fruitier and fresher.

Pours a light copper color with a mildly explosive white head. Aroma is citrus hops and not a lot else. The flavor is of earthy, leafy hops, but it’s pretty mild, and I can taste a good deal of breadiness and generic "beer" flavor. Mouthfeel is barely carbonated, not quite what I expected. I didn’t let it sit THAT long. The finish is soft, and it leaves a malty, bready aftertaste. This beer isn’t so hot, but might be a good introduction for beergeekery neophytes.
