Commercial Description:
Jackman's American Pale Ale is brewed true to the style - medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing, with plenty of hop flavor and hop aroma. It's noticeable hop bitterness is contrasted by the spicy and floral characteristics of the highest quality hops grown in the U.S.

Clear copper with a medium off-white head. Light aroma of floral hops and caramel. Flavor has notes of sweet malt, honey, caramel , some toastiness and a slight touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body, very smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Some lacing left on the glass, pretty good head retention. Not bad but it doesn’t stand out at all.

Bottle. Average frothy off white and lasting head. Good lacing. Hazy body that is lightly cloudy and light orange brown in color. Aroma is light malt, cookie. Average hops, herbs and lemon. Lightly yeasty. Body is light and sticky with soft carbonation and a metallic finish. Flavor is short in duration, moderatly sweet, moderately acidic, and moderately bitter. Not a big fan of the style I guess. Has some things I enjoy, but is missing something.

A run of the mill APA from Lowe’s in Apex, NC. Gold pour with some hopcit/honey aromas and flavors. Watery palate, but not entirely unrefreshing on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Very decent pale ale. No long description necessary-it is your run of the mill pale ale. Slightly thin, but not too much. Nice floral hop touch on aroma and flavor. This is easy drinking and not bad. If they upped the malt bill slightly, it may improve. Who knows? I would drink this again in a heartbeat.

I wanted to try this beer before Left Hand became unavailable here but never did. Now that it is one again available I thought I’d grab one. It is a nice pedestrian American Pale Ale. Nice clear copper color with some white head and no lacing. The hops have a sharp but not overwhelming bitterness but not much flavor. Not much malt flavor either. It’s pretty good when cold but as it warms the bitterness becomes sharper and the malt fades out. I should try it another time.

12 oz bottle - Pours dark golden with a fluffy offwhite head that laces and lingers. Aroma is hoppy.. Mostly grapefruit and a touch of tangerine in the nose. Flavor is a nice blend of citrus and sweet caramel malts. Some distant spice and a touch of honey also makes it’s presence known. On the palate this is light bodied and low carbonated. A great outdoor beer on a 90+ degree day. This was better than I expected it to be.

Sample from 12 oz bottle at the Mondial. Light blonde with a decent lasting wash of foam...pungent, spicy nose, fairly typical IPA hoppiness, seems a bit over-the-top for a pale ale...sweet, rather oily body, somewhat flat textured and thin late...hops muted in the light malty mixture, quite one-dimensional yet perfectly drinkable. I’ve spent quite a few words saying nothing here so I’ll stop now.

Bottle. Amber in color with nearly no head. What’s there is bubbly and off-white. Nose is flowery, bready, and lightly buttery. Taste is hoppy and a bit earthy. Light caramel, citrus fruits, some faint spiciness, and creamy maltiness. Body is slightly dry and bitter with minimal carbonation feel. Finish is hoppy and floral with light spices and some citrusy notes.
