Left Hand Juju Ginger

Pours a hazy pale amber with a small, off-white head which diminishes quickly to a thin skin of bubbles at the surface. The nose is an instant hit of freshly grated ginger over faint pale malt. This isn’t sweet like ginger ale. It’s more spicy instead, literally smelling like a slice of fresh ginger. Light-bodied and fairly thin with tongue-coating carbonation and a clean, crisp finish. The flavor is essentially spicy, effervescent ginger with just a hint of pale malt peaking out from behind. There’s isn’t much more going on with this one, and I think it suffers a bit because of this. As a stand-alone drinker, it’s a bit too one-dimensional for my tastes, but I’ll bet that it would make a interesting partner to sushi and other light Asian fare.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a small white head. Pleasant but simple ginger ale aroma. Also ginger bread, and a touch of lime and honey thrown in for good measure. High carbonation. Prickly mouthfeel. Some hops in the finish. Ginger spice in body and especially felt in the back of the throat. Sime peppery notes too.

Draft @ brewery. Pours in light golden with a small off white head. The aroma is decidedly ginger with some malt, and fruits. The flavor is more of the same. Ginger is the star here but alas it renders the beer decidedly one note. The beer is clean and crisp but this is more of a novelty drink than something I would drink on a regular basis.

Light amber with a white head and some particulates floating. Aroma of malt with light ginger. Taste of mild ginger, but mostly of sweet malts. A little too bland with some mild astringent qualities and one lone hop (or so it seemed) no the back end. A skipper.

Lots of ginger - and thats about it. Very dry with subtle spice hints on a very thin, uninspired malt base that seems to have a little rye, but hard to pull out from the ginger. Certainly is crisp and mildly tart as well. Not bad but not my style.

Pours clear golden with a good sized off-white head. The aroma has a lot of ginger and some light fruits - quite nice as I’m partial to ginger. Medium / thin body that starts crisp, then smooth and then finishes crisp. The taste starts with milder ginger than on the aroma and some clean pale malt. The finish has more ginger and some spicy hops with a bit of sourness. A decent beer.

Aroma is apple pie, bready, with ginger. Golden color, thick white head, and good lace. Tastes of ginger with a powerful grainy aftertaste. Solid and slightly habit forming in a weird way.

Bottle. Light golden in color with a pure white, rapidly diminishing head. It smells like a standard golden ale with a touch of ginger spiciness. This beer is really light in body, with a very light carbonation. Interesting, but a little on the lighter side of flavor for my liking.
