Initially, the ginger is a nice surprise, but along the beer its getting to overpowering. Maybe nice on a really hot day. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

That sweet citrus aroma. Light to medium bodied. Good tingling effervescence. Crisp body and finish. Nice simple base beer. The ginger flavor and acidity is totally apparent in the palate. With Thai food? Probably really good. On a beach somewhere? I might be able to have a few. Rainy Spring in St Louis? Not really...It’s not a bad beer, its just a question of how much you like ginger. couchand (182), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Strong ginger aroma, some maltiness.
Golden straw, almost clear, light haze.
Light creamy taste, notes of ginger, not too strong.
Almost overcarbonated. jjuf1853 (480), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Bottle pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Strong giner aroma, go figure, but also a mix of honey and other spices. A sweet ginger flavor with just a touch of bitterness. Crisp and refreshing. Interesting beer but probably wouldn’t want to drink more than one of these in a sitting. FleeVT (40), Boca Raton, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2008 12oz. Brown Bottle with born on date.
Not a touch of cloudiness in this golden yellow beer. It’s white head that does not linger too long. On the nose, ginger, pumpkin, and faint grassy hops, in that order. A decent amount of carbonation up front eventually yields to the predominant ginger with nutmeg and clove finishers. The sweetness is in the form of peach. Nice crisp and clean finish. Light bodied. This is a great summer beer. Ginger can be offensive when used in extremes (think of those little pink slivers they give you with sushi), but this beer doesn’t over do it. A unique, refreshing break from your typical. bhensonb (4369), Woodland, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Bottle from Vintage Cellar (bottled on 10/03/07). Sturdy ginger aroma. Slightly hazy orange gold color with a respectable white head. A bit thin bodied with coarsely creamy carbonation. The flavor is ginger, very low key malt, and probably some hop bitter. Refreshing and uncommon. Agree it would go well with sushi. CapedBrewsader (261), Brasschaat, Belgium
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Mar 10, 2008 12 oz. bottle: Dark gold with a large white bubbly head. Head fades pretty quick. Aroma is of spicy ginger-ale (soda) with a splash of yellow cake and some nuts. Nothing else really, just spicy ginger. First it starts out as a rather plain pale ale with a basic shallow malt flavor... but then after 5 seconds the ginger takes over. Full spicy ginger tingles the roof of your mouth and then slightly stings. On the very back end there seems to be a hop note but quite indistinguisable. Not a whole lot going on. Not an everyday thing for me, but this would be great with sushi! ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Pours a surprisingly golden hue with sold white head. Typical left hand graham cracker malts in both nose and palate, wooden, piney hops, and some juicy fruit tones before the distinctly ginger finish. Enjoyable, for something new.
