Clear pale gold body, compact head, aroma of dried straw, some ginger in the taste and not that refreshing. OldMrCrow (1200), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours deep clear gold with a fizzy white head. The nose cracks me up --- as my wife points out, it has an uncanny similarity to spaghetti-o’s. Yep, sweet sugary tomato, with some prickly ginger on top and maybe a whiff of euro-style hops. Mild, malty flavor with not so much hop presence, ginger coming through spicy but not sweet, flavor profile rather like a Japanese dry lager with ginger on top.
I don’t like this one particularly -- it’s not sweet-tasty like a good gingerbeer, nor as refreshing as e.g. a good pils. It’s not terrible by any means, but I’m not returning soon either. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

Bit over fizzy ... bit thin quite sharp , some ginger tone but not the best ...Not as bitter as some ginger beers but definitly in the Lower half of those ive tried. Disapointing and probably the worst of the Left hand ive tried

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Bottled. Clear dark golden colour with a small but firm white foam. Soleily ginger in the aroma, perhaps with small notes of bread and cinnamon. One-deminsional flavour of ginger with notes of lemon. Light body with a streamlined body. Low bitterness in the finish. altonbrownd (1958), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Tates is hoppy, lots of ginger (too much for me.) Prickly mouthfeel. Probably goes well with sushi. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Bottle from my brother in law at Thanksgiving. Popped the top and walked away only to return and see beer and foam on the counter. Clear gold color with big white head. Aroma consisted mainly of ginger and light hops. The taste was the same with malty finish. Fin (3460), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Bottle from the Grog shop, Jericho, Oxford, 23-11-07 Poured clear golden with white bubbly head. Is it me or am I the only person who found the aroma of this beer to screaming out lychees rather than ginger? In fairness the ginger came through in the taste department but after the glorious aroma the taste lacked just a little, still I quite enjoyed it despite it’s failings. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA
