Spicy with resinous notes. Brown sugar sweetness. Flavours are sweet ginger. Has a prickly carbonation. A bit one-dimensional. eaglefan538 (2394), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 3, 2007 Bottle from Papago, 5/07. Pour was golden clear with carbonation bubbles steadily rising to the top, white foamy generous head, decent retention and sound lacing. The aroma was obviously ginger-like, some herbal/earthy notes too. The flavor was vegetal ginger, very light pale malts in the base, but the spicing, ginger-cinnamon didn’t work for me, as ginger normally doesn’t. Mouthfeel was light. Thanks to bfeld for finishing the rest of this bottle, bleh. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

The nose is wonderful! Ginger, quinces, apricot, marmelade and some stuffy cellar-like elements. Lots of ginger in the flavor. Hoppy, fruity. A hint of licorice? Some quinces and cellar-like characteristics. Low bitterness. Citric elements with reminiscent ginger in the finish. This beer leaves a beautiful lace. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle, Pours fairly clear with a ok head. Taste is a bit hoppy with a touch of ginger that is really not very evident. Honestly I expected more of a ginger bite which this brew had none of. It was a pale ale with out a lot of substance and very little ginger. Not too bad though. SilkTork (4175), Rochester, Kent, England
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Aug 20, 2007 355ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. Ginger is evident, though not harsh. The base beer is a dry, lager style (though its an ale, it tastes like a lager) lacking in interest, and not that tasty. An indifferent sort of beer. The ginger doesn’t sit well with the American hops - it creates a sort of, well, skunky aroma. Imagine a skunky can of Fosters with some ginger in it. Yugh. I struggled with this. hughie (3069), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Gold with a small white head. Faint ginger aroma, not unpleasant, but not altogether convincing. Taste is at least not as sweet as I feared. Overall effect is refreshingly dry, but probe more deeply and there’s a muddy dustiness that suggests it’s not as fresh as it should be. harrisoni (6829), Ashford, Kent, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottle from Utobeer. Gold, lasting thick head. Well, it’s got ginger in it. It’s a bit biscuity, quite clean in the mouth, some candy sugar. A little bit hard in the mouth compared with the Tipples Ginger I had the week before. Still, I’m a bit of a fan of ginger flavoured beers and this isn’t bad.
