I rate the less evaluated one first. Golden with a small creamy head and some lacing. Aromas are spicy; sharp ginger off-course, some hops and some malt. Tastes like ginger, some fruit, malt and some (hop)bitterness. Finishes more bitter, fruity and malty. Bit watery palate, smooth mouthfeel. Strange but not bad and definately sessionable. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2007 On tap at Max & Joe’s Left Hand tasting party. Pours a corn-golden maize color with a thin white head. Strong ginger aroma, but also has some sweetness like cotton candy in the scent. The flavor has a chemical-like burning bitterness that does not seem to come from the hops. The Bluetongue ginger beer of Australia is better. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada
Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 30, 2007 Gingery, spicy aroma. Lightly metallic. Pours clear orange with bubbles. Light head. Very spicy quality of cardamom, cinnamon, and other spices of the like. Ginger of course. Moderate mouth feel. The description is spot on with this being a good alternative to wheat beers. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2007 From an old Cellar’s tasting note sheet. Pleasing ginger nose, much stronger than I expected. Lagery body with the faintest hint of ginger. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 16, 2007 Sampled at the 5th Annual Wildland Firefighters Benefit & Festival. Beer is clear, light, bright golden orange with a small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing head.

First impression on the nose is a whallop of ground ginger. Aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, caramel, biscuit; Hoppy with a light note of herb (which supports the ginger well); Yeasty with a trace of sweat; Moderate-to-heavy note of herbal ginger, light note of buttery diacetyl an a trace of honey.

The flavor is lightly-to-moderately sweet, lightly bitter with a longer-than-average, lightly bitter, trace acidic finish.

The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is fizzy.

Ginger is omnipresent, yet somehow flat and 1-D. Not bad, but not a real tail-wagger. drainey (231), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2007 Bottle. Not bad, not great. Tasted like an average pale ale with some ginger in the nose and the taste. I’d drink it again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it. ghostmonkey (182), budd lake, New Jersey, USA
