Did not have a metallic taste like Dogfish Head’s attempt. However, it did not taste as fresh. ginger beers are kind of a novalty and this one didn’t go much beyond that. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Cloudy orange with a small off-white head. Ginger definitely in the aroma with some dough notes. Medium bodied. The flavor was ginger but nicely done. Had agreed that this might go well with Indian food but, in retrospect, it doesn’t have the substance to hold up to spicey food. It would be overpowered. Besides, to me, the best drink with the heat and spice of good Indian food is still a nice glass of lassi. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Bottle... Barely hazy, yellow ale with a small, whispy, white head. Decent retention. Smells casually of gingerbread with light nutmeg. Malty, spicy flavor. Good balance. Light to medium-bodied and fizzy. Short, crisp (then buttery) finish. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 28, 2006 Pours golden, white head. Very weak and thin more pale ale tasting, no ginger just crap beer, really that bad. GreatLibations (1470), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2006 Pours golden w/ shallow spritzy froth. Ginger on the nose. Light to medium nectar. Crisp, clean, ginger, some citrus rind. Finish is long. A refreshing brew with a unique ginger character. Worth a try. jimhilt (1694), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | May 18, 2006 Pours a two finger, white head that quickly fades leaving no lace. Cloudy amber color. Very light carbonation and light bodied. Nose has some hops and maybe a hint of ginger. Starts with hints of ginger but more hops and malt than ginger, boring, clean finish. $2.75 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2006 Interesting. Gotta love ginger, though, because it’s not subtle. Pours a darkish golden color, with a thin white head. Aroma is strong ginger over grainy malt. Flavor is much the same with a crisp, dark hoppy finish. Smooth enough on the palate. More refreshing than I expected, but almost has a medicinal quality. Of course, I enjoy cough syrup, so it’s not too bad. Decent beer for a kick. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

This actually turned out to be a nice palate cleanser of a beer. The aroma is strongly and singly dominated by intense ginger. Body is light gold/yellow with a diminishing thumb thick head. Flavor is a sharp tonuge lashing whip of ginger and carbonation. It’s actually fairly refreshing and I like ginger so it tasted ok. The base beer is thin and also narrow of flavor, but I’d actually drink this again and I’d like to try it with some Curry.
