Apr 1, 2006 An interesting brew. Tastes pretty much like what the name would suggest. Probably not something I would go out of my way to get again, but it was nice for a change of pace.

Mar 23, 2006 I think this beer would go well with sushi - especially if you like ginger, like I do. It really does taste like ginger, mind you - like the kind in ginger-breadmen. I guess it would also fit well with ginger snaps. Overall good, but a tad watery for my taste. Palate gets old quickly too - not enough diversity. It might actually be good for cleansing one’s palate though when eating.

Mar 13, 2006 Poured a light amber color with no head. It had a slightly sweet aroma that I can’t place. The lager-ish flavor has a hint of medium sweetness, but not what I would consider ginger by any means. The body was quite sticky in my mouth and lighter than expected.

Mar 9, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear golden-ornage color with bubbly white head. Enticing aroma dominated by citrusy hops with a hint of ginger and graham crackers. A little sweet with vanilla, grassy hop, and ginger flavors. Pleasant spicy cereal grain aftertaste. I hope to get a chance to try this on tap because it is very good from the bottle.

Mar 8, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Bottle conditioned. Not much aroma, a little hint of ginger. Pours a clear yellow with a decent white head, left lacing in the glass. Looks like a european lager. Light, smooth flavor with distinct ginger in the aftertaste. Light mouthfeel. Probably a pretty good lawnmower beer. I would try it again in the summertime, but just not that exciting. Occaisionally reminded me of sushi when I would lift my glass - obviously the light, yellow beer and ginger aroma and flavor.

Mar 8, 2006 Draught at O’Briens - San Diego: Golden bronze color with very little head or lacing, of which disipates rather quickly. Nose of light pale malt and some ginger ale essence. The flavor is weak and lotiony with some floral hops along with the potent ginger. Finishes light and watery. If you’d added some gari to a golden ale, you’d have something like this. Not really my thing.
