Gromit (449), Port Orchard, Washington, USA Oct 20, 2007 Okay, for the record, *please* change the category to "vegetable" beer. As a Pale Ale, it’s just nasty, but as a Veggie, it’s not *that* bad.
So as a Pale, yeah, it sucks. I was hoping for Siletz’s Ginger Porter, which was amazing. This reminds me of a V-8 that’s gone bad.
This’ll be short: Aroma is of V-8 minus the tomatoes. Appearance is bland. amber color with no head and no lace. Flavor is veggie with a hint of ginger, or more fairly, a pale with V-8 minus the tomato. Palate is bland, perhaps cloying, and completely devoid of any ginger crisp/spicy/cleansing properties. Overall, skip this completely. It has no redeeming qualities.
ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Hazy gold pour, with a frothy white head. Ginger aroma. Thin bodied. Ginger, grain, and caramel malts. Hop flavor seems non- existent ogivlado (2244), Zagreb, Croatia Aug 28, 2008 On tap at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam.
Pale amber coloured, small white head, dusty light ginger nose. Very mild prickling ginger taste with notes of chamomile tea. Spicy finish. Interesting but weak. mike1977ok (365), Netherlands Aug 22, 2008 Peachy orange colour with massive thick head. Aroma and flavour dominated by ginger in a sweet sugary kind of way. Not terrible as a ’concept’ beer but not worth repeating.
alraicercsu (72), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a very small white head. Smells strongly of ginger. Tastes the same with a little malt flavor. JF_GRIND (1207), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2008 never had a Ginger beer before. Juju tasted like many of the ginger ales I’ve had over the years. Add in light malts and bitterness and you have a ginger beer. Can this be considered a summer beer?
