Commercial Description:
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Pours very dark brown, with a tan head. Tastes is strong with just the right amount of sweetness. Roasted flavor, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, and maybe a little cream. Very smooth and drinkable. Thumbs way up...

This beer has the exact profile that I imagine when I think of milk stout. Aroma is medium roasty with some sweet malt. pours black with a tan head that sticks around. flavor is full rounded with roast and malt, with coffee notes, and a creamy mouthfeel. very good.

Left Hand Milk Stout is a clear, deep, deep ruby ale with a thin khaki head that leaves good lacing. It has a roasty aroma with a touch of sweetness. It is medium bodied, smooth and crisp. It’s sweet with notes of caramel, milk and coffee. It’s very roasty. This is just excellent!

Dark black pour with a foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate. Smooth caramel that has some roast bitter but not enough to balance the sweetness I think. Still an excellent beer.

Attractive black pour with substantial tan head that fluffs up and then lingers forever. The aroma is coffee, chocolate milk and licorice. The flavors follow pretty much as anticipated by the aroma...coffee, chocolate milk, licorice, and a very creamy (milkly) mouthfeel that feels fairly luxurious on the tongue.

I was pumped to try this one. Pours a dark, dark amber. Not quite as dark as many of the stouts I’ve had. Quickly diminishing dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate and molasses. Nice creamy texture with chocolate milk and slight roasted malts. NIce sweet finish of chocolate and malts. This was a great beer.
