Smells really good, has a coffee smell. Taste has that coffee come through more, and chocolate, there are hops, but they balance this brew out perfectly! This is one mighty fine brew! One of the smoothest beers I have had! Great beer... tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Dark black color. This flavor on this one is a little off. Drank this one right after tasting a Bell’s Kalamazoo stout. Probably skewed my rating a little. To much sugar for a stout. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Nice malty aroma...plenty of coffee and roasted chocolate malt. Flavor is quite unique....the sweetness of the milk sugar combined with the roasted coffee creates a cappuccino flavor....quite pleasant. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Bottle, pours black. Light but sweet chocolate and coffee aroma. Very nice. Heavy up front with roasted malt, coffee taste complimented with a nice creamy slightly chocolate taste. The heavy carbonation complimentes the creamy soft taste so it does not leave it watered down. No heavy hop taste unlike many stouts which makes this ridiculously smooth. Good stuff VitaminR (442), Colorado, USA
