Commercial Description:
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Bottle. Sweet roasty malt aroma, also chocolate. Dark brown body, very small head. Flavor is sweet, nutty, and roasty, with plenty of chocolate and caramel.

bottle bought in Systembolaget - Stockholm. Appearance: dark brown to black color. Medium head, beige and with quickly collapse. Aroma: toasted malts, chocolaty milk, quaker with milk and cream. Flavor: start with a soft toast and with creamy oats. Later, reminiscences of sweet chocolate, lactose, cream, cappuccino , vanilla, butter-cookies and sponge cake. Palate: full body, very creamy and viscous texture. Low carbonation. Remark: nice milk hints, sweet but this one isn’t sickly, very good texture. Advisable.

355 ml bottle. From Sweden. Very dark almost black colour with beige head. Aroma is roasted malts and some sour milk and coffee. Flavour is too much coffee for me to enjoy. Sweet and dry at the same time. Too much coffee for me.

Pours a somewhat light black with thin tan-colored head. The aroma is strange of malt and honey with hints of nutmeg. Flavor is definitely a creamy stout, almost as if it were watered down with milk. Hints of coffee at the end of each sip. Body is creamy with a fizzy carbonation.

Bottle-Pours black with no noticeable head. The aroma was roasted malts and coffee with a background of milk. Ok, I know it would be better defined as lactose. The initial taste is milk and chocolate followed by coffee with a slightly hoppy finish. The mouth feel was creamy and carbonated. Petty’s

Subtle aroma of toffee/coffee. Full flavored, a bit thin in the milk stout style. OK I guess.

Pint Glass from bottle Light fluffy head, beige in color. Dark espresso color with a nose of chocolate milk, coffee, and hazelnut. Creamy and sweet on the tongue, with a clingy smooth mouth feel. Strong cappuccino aftertaste.
