Commercial Description:
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Strongly flavored with liquorice, espresso, bitterish hops balanced by lactose. medium bodied, black clear, with a minimal light brown head.

Nice and dark color. Very, very dark brown, almost black. Has hints of burnt coffee, nuts, and caramel. Tastes of coffee, chocolate milk, and something a little sweet. Must be the sugar talked about in the description. Has a little bit more of a bite in the end than most stouts. Overall not too bad for a milk stout. Glad to finally have tried this one.

Crushed with Jakebra. Aroma of mostly coffee and some sweet milky-ness. It’s aight. Not anywhere as smooth as it should be. I’m comparing to Rogue Chocolate Stout, and this totally pales in comparison. But it is drinkable and somewhat very nice.

Pours a deep brown with aroma and flavor of chocolate, chicory, milk (cafe con leche), with zesty coffee bitterness. Some whole milk in the taste. Finshes creamy with coffee bitterness. Starts with milk chocolate, sweet coffee, and caramel and some nuttiness. It goes down like water- and with this ABV, it is hard to believe that it is this good. One of the best beers available in Florida, and an underrated treasure.

bottle poured into a snifter has a dark chestnut brown color and a thin tan head that retreated to a ring in the glass. aroma has chocolate malt, coco powder, whoppers, light alcohol, and faint roast. creamy and sweet. medium mouth feel with lighter carbonation. flavor is very smooth, chocolate has the spotlight, light roast, and creamy. no burnt or bitterness gives it a nice softness. coffee comes forward as it warms, and the finish is lactic and chocolate.

From bottle. Nice sweet roasty malt aroma, with licorice, chocolate Twizzlers, and some Tootsie Roll. Bittersweet with mild neutral hop character. Light lactose sweetness and carbonic gaseousness. Dark black-brown clear, with thin mild tan lacing head. Medium watery body, smooth, with medium carbonation. Kinda velvety. Starts medium sweet, with chocolate, Tootsie Roll and licorice, and just a bit of coffee. Sweetness hangs around for a while, with roasted malt bitter finish. Light roasted burnt malt character and sour coffee. Mild bitter hop finish. Quite a milky, chocolatey character on this one. Tastes pretty fine.

Poors rich dark brown with a beige head. Sweet light coffee and caramel flavors. Smooth and creamy feel. Slight bitterness, though on the lighter side. Noticeably sweeter than many stouts i’ve had, yet pretty dry finish. Not my favorite style, but a very respectable dark beer.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Creamy and sweat but just a little bit thin. Decent stout though.
