Commercial Description:
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

pours a dark almost black color. Has the smell of roasted malts, chocolate, & coffee. Taste is really smooth. Reminds me of coffee with a bit of cream and a very little bit of sugar. Wish it was more readily available at my local grocery store.

Smells super coffee-y/chocolate-y. The sweetness of the sweet stout makes it taste sticky and a faint smell of soured milk (probably just because it’s inferred by the name). Very drinkable.

Dark garnet body, small tan head. Aroma of oatmeal, cram, and roasted coffee. Flavor is rich and full of toasted oats and bittersweet chocolate. Sweet, rich finish. Very tasty.

Poured a dark brown, almost black, with a nice finger of cream-colored head. Smells of dark malts and chocolates. The taste was chocolate, coffee, and dark malts. Really good. Heavy and creamy in the mouth, very smooth. Definately goes down smooth, I could have downed a few more of these if I wasn’t just sampling. Serving type: on-tap

Sampled in Boulder. A very nice stout with a crisp finish. Solid black color and consistent head.
