May 28, 2008 Now this is a good stout. The milk sugars do seem to mellow the usual stout roastiness, but I found it quite enjoyable to drink. It is a very dark opaque color with a finger or two of tan head. Cellar temperature seemed ideal as the flavor just kept improving as the beer warmed a bit after coming out of the frig. A bit of sweetness there, but the roasted malt is still the predominate flavor and aroma.

May 23, 2008 355 ml bottle. Thanks to ekstedt. Deep brownish black with a large, stable beige head. Roasted malty aroma with tones of smoke, caramel, chocolate and raisins. Tasting reveals more of the roasted aroma. The taste is sweet and full, with a smooth mouthfeel and perfect, mild carbonation.

May 21, 2008 Pours a dark caramel colour. Head is a full fluffy tan colour. Creamy mouthfeel and subtly sweet, not too rich- great taste with a milk chocolate undertone. Touch of smoke and roasted malts.

May 18, 2008 Updated: Jun 19, 2008Has a sweet smell, faint though but pours to a thick, dark brown, almost pitched black. Smooth with a thick malty taste, sweet. Not overpowering in any sense nor bitter in any manner. Great beer

May 18, 2008 Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, smoke and sweet malts. Taste of coffee, sweet malts, roasted malts, sugar. Mild bitter aftertaste. Decent milk stout.

May 18, 2008 A nice dark brown pour with brown medium head. Nice toasty carmely taste. Not too carbonated but enough to be more then a dry stout. Enjoyable and will repeat.

May 16, 2008 Updated: Jun 9, 2008(Sample from November 17, 2006 Beer Club Meeting; Sample from May 16, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) This is one of my favorite Left Hand brews. Super duper dark with an off-brown head. Hints of something sweet, maybe vanilla. Nice, lightly chocolate, and super sweet. Deserty, but not overdone. Nice body. A good, solid beer.

May 16, 2008 mild roasted scent, poured very dark with great sized tan head, surprisingly mellow compared to other stouts and not at all dessert sweet like other milk stouts. the small amount of sweetness that it does have completely removes any roasted aftertastes/bitterness that come with some stouts.
