soccer290 (18), Highland Park, Illinois, USA Feb 5, 2008 Updated: Feb 15, 2008 I don’t like dark beers, but this has a GREAT taste. Very dark color, very creamy taste, but not heavy. Kind of a coffee taste to it
nbutler11 (161), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 2, 2008 Enjoyed this on tap at The B Line in Tucson. Pours a thick black color with a trim white head of foam. Smells of milk chocolate and tastes predominantly of cream. Very balanced and heavy bodied. Highly drinkable. hirigalzkar (11), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 2, 2008 Bottle. The aroma is nothing special, malty like your traditional stout. The flavour is sweet with a (obviously) milky aftertaste. Surprisingly balanced. DutchCrow (20), Alkmaar, Netherlands Sep 2, 2008 Very good! I didn’t know what to expect, but I really liked it. When the barkeeper said it had a cocoa aftertaste, I was a bit scared but it turned out well. Very balanced, nice aroma, sweet roasted taste. Very dark colour. Nice one. highlandlad (1189), Sydney, Australia Sep 2, 2008 A good example of a style that often disappoints. This has a restrained sweetness and good balance. It may well be the best milk stout I’ve had, but that’s not saying much. It’s as black as a Fresian’s colon with a tall head that fizzled quickly. Quite a "dry" aroma for a sweet stout. Milo choc-milk dominates, with cocoa powder and licorice. The milk sugar is prominent but not overpowering. Creamy, lactic body. Sweet, milky flavours. Cocoa again, soft dark malts and a gentle bitterness to the finish. It’s too sweet to be sessionable but a bottle proved satisfying drinking. This brewer continues to impress. (355ml bottle from IBS, Perth. BB 27/8/08) espenra (106), Oslo, Norway Aug 30, 2008 355ml bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a black colour with a light-brown creamy head that settled down slowly in the glass. It has a pleasant aroma that smells of roasted malts, milk chocolate and hints of caramel. The flavour is a bit thin and watery and tastes of milk chocolate, thin/weak coffee and malts. It has a short aftertaste. It’s a nice starter-stout, but people that like stouts will find this a bit lacking.
