Pour at first appears black, but held to bright light is actually exceptionally deep ruby. Short creamy tan head subsides to a thin ring as it warms. Aroma is of chocolate and deep roasted malts. Taste is more of same, with roasty edge softened by the sweet lactose. Body is moderate and palate smooth. A fine cream stout.

Sweet aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and some coffee. Creamy mouth feel, mild and easy to drink. Aftertaste reminded of hot chocolate but with roasted tones. A nice stout, although sweet. darn1207 (667), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a bit of a chestnut hue, capped with a modest sized tan head. Aroma is on the sweet side, with notes of cocoa powder, malted milk, and coffee in the background. Cocoa and roasted chocolate malt hit the palate first, and are joined by bakers chocolate towards the finish. Bittersweet chocolate clings to the palate for a length finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel makes this really easy to drink. Nice stout. tpd975 (252), Riverview, Florida, USA
