Bottle, 9.1%. OK grassy hop aroma. Cloudy dark amber colour. Small stable tan head. Good flavour, very malty and quite smoky. Good alcohol level to balance the malt and give a good mouthfeel.

Courtesy of Gillard. 2007 vintage poured hazy copper with gold edges and thin white head. The aroma is peach and tangelo followed by some chewy malt sweetness, wood notes and just a bit of booze. The taste has bold notes of oak but not too much. Next to the wood are chewy sticky malts, solid pine hop flavor and pine hop bitterness. Yum. The varied notes are well matched creating a pleasing experience. This should only get better with age.

2007 vintage. Hazy light brown color with a thick head & wonderful spotted lace. Fruity caramel aroma. Roast, vanilla, caramel, and hops. Definitely a little too green

750 ml, 07 vintage. Slight fog on this copper beer with a large sticky head. Cobwebs of lace all over the glass. Orange, caramel and earthy tea leaf-honeycomb aroma. Initial taste is same as the aroma, but turns to lightly peppery oak on the finish. Peat smoke and oak aftertaste is nice. Medium-heavy body is mostly smooth, slightly watery and well-balanced between dry and sweet. Not super complex, but well-built and very tasty.

’07 bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours a murky caramel color, with a thick head and creamy lacing. Nose is smoky, with caramel, slight touch of vanilla and just malty overall. Flavor is oak, smoky, caramel, slick soft malts, some distant roast. Very smooth, and the smoke works well here.

Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Pours a hazy orange with a one finger light tan head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, a hint of smoke, and oak. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.

Bottle. Pours brown with thick creamy white head. Roast malt aroma. Taste is roast, oakey, maybe some hops. Feels young.

Bottle. Hazy and brown in colour with a white head. Roasted, woody, berries, bread, nice dryness, light smoked, some sweetness, oak and a smoked finish. Quite nice.
