ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 2007 vintage. Hazy light brown color with a thick head & wonderful spotted lace. Fruity caramel aroma. Roast, vanilla, caramel, and hops. Definitely a little too green nearbeer (1224), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 18, 2008 750 ml, 07 vintage. Slight fog on this copper beer with a large sticky head. Cobwebs of lace all over the glass. Orange, caramel and earthy tea leaf-honeycomb aroma. Initial taste is same as the aroma, but turns to lightly peppery oak on the finish. Peat smoke and oak aftertaste is nice. Medium-heavy body is mostly smooth, slightly watery and well-balanced between dry and sweet. Not super complex, but well-built and very tasty. gunhaver (610), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2008 ’07 bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours a murky caramel color, with a thick head and creamy lacing. Nose is smoky, with caramel, slight touch of vanilla and just malty overall. Flavor is oak, smoky, caramel, slick soft malts, some distant roast. Very smooth, and the smoke works well here. fishingnet (803), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Gillard.
