Commercial Description:
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Pretty good. YOu have to drink at back of mouth, or you will get a bitter flavor. If you can do this you get a rich carmel type flavor, sweet and enjoyable. Nice beer. I’ll look for it again.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear orange with a medium to large creamy off white head. Bread, grain, malt, earthy hops. Medium body, light spicy booze component, earthy malts with a bit of biscuit and caramel. Finishes with a touch of plumy sweetness, and some hoppy bitterness.

BOTTLE: amber pour with a reddish hue, small white head. Bread on the nose, maybe some caramel. Taste is toast, butterscotch, medium mouthfeel. Not too bad.

Poured from bottle into Summit Pint glass. Clear copper-amber with foamy white head (looks like a root beer float on top) with excellent lacing, especially for a lager. Aroma of biscuit, toast, sweet fruit, metallic bitterness - little too mild. Slightly sweet toast and biscuit backbone with some fruit and caramel undertones. Finishes with a moderate spicy hop bitterness. Definitely more bitter than standard for the style. Moderate carbonation, medium body (fairly full for a lager). Despite the slightly sweet backbone, it finishes very dry. Excellent Marzen, although the bitterness is a bit high for the style. Paulaner had always been my favorite. This year, now that I have experienced a lot more beer, I prefer this one over it. Great job.

12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, copper-orange colored body with a finger-width, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is sweeter caramels with a light, flowery, bready fruit. Some butterscotch and a very light earth. Flavor is a moderate malty, caramel sweetness with a mild grassy bitterness in the finish. A light biscuit, fruit, straw, and barely a hint of toast in the middle as well. Finishes dry with a grassy malt aftertaste that lingers for a moderate length. Medium bodied, smooth, and firm. Overall, a decent Oktoberfest. More of a grassy bitterness than most, but lacking in the toasty caramels that I love so much with this style. Pretty average.

Bottle courtesy of Pflug. Clear nice rusty hue. Orange copper. Aroma of heavy malts with honey and spice. Taste is cherry cough syrup, some spice, and bitter malts. Finish is a lingering hot bitter. Aftertaste is bothersome.

Bottle thanks to Pflug. Citrus maybe, some spice aroma, but pretty weak. Metallic taste with cinnamon. Aftertaste is awkward and goofy. Warm mouthfeel.
