Commercial Description:
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

I thought this was a pretty good Marzen -- it’s cellared as it should be, but it didn’t lose so much of its carbonation. Light nose, cereal and caramel. Slightly smoky finish.

Golden-brown and bright. Toasty, lightly caramelly with hints of chocolate. Smooth caramelly and slightly earthy palate. Decent, if a little sweet.

Bottle @ Abraxas. Rich copper color with rocky head, lacing. Bready, sweet aroma. Soft, gentle carbonation. Very sweet entry. Has a good dose of lemon and black pepper hops in the middle to balance it out, ending in an alcohol-eased dryness.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a billowy 2 finger off-white head and nice lacing. Nose is roasted nuts and caramel. Taste is nuts, slightly burnt caramel and a touch of sour bready yeast in the finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent for the style.

Pours a dark amber with a nice, medium tan head. Nice color. Nice malty nose, bready with a hint of spicy fruit in the background. Nice mouth feel. Big malty, bready brew that covers the entire mouth. Nice finish with a slight bitterness that stays with you. One of the better Marzen styles that I have had.

Pour is orange amber with a small head. Head becomes a ring soon. Aroma is very malty. Taste is a combination of malt and a sweet finish. Mouthfeel lasts only o a moment. Decent brew, I’ve had better.

This beer pours with a thick, creamy white head that dissipates to a thin, lasting layer. It has a typical light amber color for the style. Very light malty aroma with some alcohol present. The flavor is a bit bland and the finish is unspectacular. It’s a decent beer but I probably won’t be getting it again anytime soon.

Bottled@SBWF2008. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, bready notes as well as mild hoppyness. Flavour is quite much the same with some grassy notes in the finish. Rather boring brew...
