Pretty decent for the style. this is actually a style I am starting to like more and more due to the toasty maltiness. and this one had exactly that. Nice roasty, toasty malts. Good. tgncc (818), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2008 The appearance is enticing. It’s a clear amber/brown color, like chestnut. It has a relatively quicly dissipating white head. Aroma is very pleasing, a mix of bread and fruit (like apple or pear). The flavor is malty, doughy, and sweet. Medium thickness in mouthfeel. The palate starts out as caramelized malts, but actually turns out a little dry. The marzen is not a well appreciated style, but this is on the high end of the marzens out there. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown/amber with a medium head. Little to no lacing. Sweet aroma, well balanced on the malty side. Flavor is fruity and sweet. Palate is medium bodied and creamy, although it finishes a bit on the dry side. Overall this is a very drinkable Marzen. Flavour combines some very nice medium full malts with a hoppy finish. Nice balance, nice session, nice autumn beer. hillfiiiiire (285), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Pours a gold with no head. Aroma is bready and sweet. Flavor is sweet caramels balanced fairly nicely with spicy hops. Finishes with a light body, and is overall a decent beer but seems to miss the essence of Oktoberfest. ekstedt (2440), Göteborg, Sweden

smell of caramel, roasted nuts, somewhat earthy.
taste is crisp, caramel, light amount of tin, some nuts, ends oily and thick with a little bitterness, as it warms becomes more watery.
