Commercial Description:
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Copper color with a thin head. Caramel aroma. The caramel turns slightly sour in the taste. A bit of corn and grain. Kinda blah.

Pours a clear amber color with a fairly small, eggshell shite, pillowy head leaving no lacing. Nose is toasted caramel, roasted nuts, and sweet bread. Flavor is similar with rich toasted caramels, light toffee, and nutty sweet bread notes. Palate is light to medium, lively, and crisp, maybe a bit viscous. Finishes sweet with rich caramel and almonds. Richer than most of its German counterparts but lacks their drinkability. Nice change of pace as far as Ofests go but almost too swee for its own good.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that faded before mid-glass. Pleasant aroma of caramel. Flavor was caramel, lightly sweet, with a bit of hops at the finish. Medium bodied with a smooth finish. Above average oktoberfest beer.

Bottle. Overall this, like many of the Oktoberfest beers I’ve had so far this season are just okay. Nothing bad about this beer, aroma of grass with malts. Flavor is about the same, with a touch of hops in there.

On draught at speakeasy 9/17/07. Pours a hazy copper with a little head that fades immediately. Aroma is malty and slightly bready. Typical marzen flavor--I’ve only had about 3 marzens this year and I’m already getting sick of the flavor. yada yada yada, not my favorite style.

Pours orange/copper. Grassy and malty aroma. Fairly creamy mouthfeel with some caramel malt and toffee balanced by some hops. Average Oktoberfest.

This marzen pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and toffee, a touch fruity and sweet as well. A medium to lighter bodied marzen. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are slightly spicy and a touch earthy. Nice balance. Lively carbonation. Kind of a milder tasting marzen, it seems a touch thin tasting at times. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some lingering caramel flavors.
