Pours a clear coppery amber brew with a decent off-white head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet Hawaiian bread, flowery hops, a touch of roasted nuts, and just a hint of nectarine. Taste is semi-sweet, medium bodied, very light carbonation with a flavor of sweet buscuits and flowery hops. Finish is just as semi-sweet as the flavor. Pretty good Oktoberfest this year. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Pours a very nice honey like amber with a nice white head. Super sweet malt nose with a good dose of roasted nuttiness. Full creamy mouthfeel that finishes out with a nice floral hoppiness balances a sweet biscuity malt presence. jason (1622), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Flavor is slightly bitter sweet, light hops and big malty mouthfeel. Aftertaste can be a little rough. Decent Marzen. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 10, 2007 My bottle is the Left Hand label, Bottled on: 07 25 07. Clear orange amber with a small off white head, low retention. Sweet toasted malts and grain up front with some lightly tangy fruitiness--decent. Flavor adds some spicy earthiness and some wet paper oxidation with a semi dry finish. The fruitiness seems to become more rotten fruit like (a different kind of tang), but not ungodly horrible like it sounds. Low carbonation with a light to medium body. Meh. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Clear coppery color with thin white head. Aroma is caramel with a slight farty sulfur note. Somewhat biscuity with a lingering alcohol and tannin aftertaste (perhaps) from the expired low alpha hops. $2/12oz Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Caramelly malt aroma, smells very good! Pours a rich amber, i like my fest beers to be a little darker. Great munich malt flavor, caramelly, with spicy hops, actually has a noticable hop presence, typical of american versions of this beer, but it probably why i like the micro brewed versions better! drpimento (824), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Not bad. Well balanced. And well crafted for the style. Personally I prefer a bit more roasty dryness. Good carbonation. Copper colored amber hue like the description says. Nice finish although a bit sweet.
