Aroma is strong, malty and spicy - I got hints of cloves and cinnamon - with a touch of hops. Flavor is rich, mouth-filling, mainly malty, with spicy undertones. Smooth and very pleasing, this is an excellent autumn beer. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Thin, even white head on a classic orange brown body with normal clarity...nice roasted malts with a slight sweet, doughy aroma...medium to full palate, with a smooth texture and finish...sweet, even malts...a lingering finish, impressive in its singular effect...another winner from Left Hand, a beer equally made for sessioning or swigging....bring on the candy corn. riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Amber colored. Slightly hazy. Small white head. Aroma of caramel, toast, and nuts. Flavor is the same, but it is really nice. It just works together. Its got all of the flavors from most fest beers, but they work together the best. Smooth and drinkable. Each sip made me want more. The best Fest beer I have drank this season for sure! bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Poured from bottle into Summit Pint glass.
Clear copper-amber with foamy white head (looks like a root beer float on top) with excellent lacing, especially for a lager.
Aroma of biscuit, toast, sweet fruit, metallic bitterness - little too mild.
Slightly sweet toast and biscuit backbone with some fruit and caramel undertones. Finishes with a moderate spicy hop bitterness. Definitely more bitter than standard for the style.
Moderate carbonation, medium body (fairly full for a lager). Despite the slightly sweet backbone, it finishes very dry.
Excellent Marzen, although the bitterness is a bit high for the style. Paulaner had always been my favorite. This year, now that I have experienced a lot more beer, I prefer this one over it. Great job.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2003 This was really enjoyable. Picked up a bottle today that was brewed on 8-13-03. It poured a nice amber/orange color with a thin white head. The taste was malty but finished somewhat dry, which lended to the drinkability. Very nice. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Pours a clear medium amber body with small cascading bubbles throughout leaving a thick creamy tan head. The aroma is caramel, nuts, plums, chocolate essence. Very malty and complex, this taste is wonderfully sweet upfront of caramel, pitted fruit, with a nice hoppy bitterness for balance that ends sweet coating the palate with a caramel sweetness. Great Oktoberfest Left Hand. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a rich, deep amber/gold color with a nice cream colored head. There is not a lot of lacing and the retention is a little lacking though. The aroma is excellent! This is what an Oktoberfest should smell like. Very large caramel aromas, backed with a nice grainy note. Very nice. Flavor is nice and rich, full f caramel malt. This beer is nice and smooth on the palate and I could see myself in a big tent drinking massive mugs full of this. Nice representation of a good marzen.
