Commercial Description:
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Draught. Pours a darky brown with a mild head. Pretty average Oktoberfest for my money.

Amber color; creamy head. There is some caramel in this brew, and correct bitterness. Not bad, but plain.

From a bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head. Spciy malty flavor with a quick finish.

12 bottle. Filtered glowing amber orange-red color. Respectable enough head fades down to a thin, soapy beige layer on top. Mild amber malt aroma. Medium bodied and relatively straightforward, there is a nice balance between the medium dark malts and the smooth, light bitterness. Certainly on the bitter side of the Oktoberfest spectrum tastewise. The solid ABV and malty body stays with you in the aftertaste. Less malt dominated than most Okts, giving it a sight West Coast feel. A nice interpretation of the style.

THOUGHTS: Decent märzen. Very malty, but slightly cloying. It could use a little more hops to balance it a little better. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium copper with beautiful carbonation and a small to average, off-white head that mostly diminished leaving good lacing. The aroma was fine, but weak. There was moderate to heavy dark bread, toasted and caramel malts; light grassy hops, light maple syrup, stewed fruit, slight lemon and a little fruitiness. The initial flavor was sweet, lightly acidic and slightly bitter; while the finish was rather sweet, slightly acidic and slightly sour and bitter with an average duration. There was caramel malt, a little citrus, a little dark toasted bread, light hops, fruit, a little nuts and a hint of chocolate. The medium body was a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent and slightly metallic finish.

Bottle. Pours a pumpkin color with a small creamy tan-colored head. Aromas of sweet malt, fruity yeast, raisins, and dates. Sweet malts, ripe berries, and a touch of alcohol lead to biscuits and hazelnuts, with a slightly bitter finish. Nothing astounding, but pretty good, and very drinkable.

12-oz bottle. Substantial head with rings of lacing. Clear amber color. Aroma sweet with a hint of apple. Uncomplicated flavor. Lightly malty and sweet. Feels a little watery. Finishes clean with mild tinniness.

Pretty good. YOu have to drink at back of mouth, or you will get a bitter flavor. If you can do this you get a rich carmel type flavor, sweet and enjoyable. Nice beer. I’ll look for it again.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear orange with a medium to large creamy off white head. Bread, grain, malt, earthy hops. Medium body, light spicy booze component, earthy malts with a bit of biscuit and caramel. Finishes with a touch of plumy sweetness, and some hoppy bitterness.
