Braudog (3461), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 15, 2008 Caged/corked. Pours with a ruggedly reddish brown color and just a fizzle of head. The aroma is mildly medicinal, but quite restrained. Interesting drink here ... a broad blend of stuff going on here, from a easy going roast, a teaser of dark fruit, and a kiss of chocolate in the finish. Very tasty brew and exceptionally well assembled at 7.7%! (#3422, 4/15/2008)
Oakes (6779), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Dark reddish-amber. Spicy, chocolatey aroma with lots of hop and caramel. Fun stuff. Spicy, caramelly, hoppy, woody with hints of chocolate and nuts. Fresh rye character. Good times. demdeac40 (133), Hendersonville, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2008 Pours a nice brownish amber with a large off white head. Aroma is nice and toasty and slightly sweet. The flavor is dark fruit with a tang of fennel. Rogueone (270), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 27, 2008 Draft @ Buckeye Beer Engine: Pleasantly surprised by this one. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a thick frothy head. Aroma is sweet, dried fruit, maybe a hint of dark sugars. Flavor is sweet, burnt rye malts, brown sugar. Good mouthfeel, hides alcohol dangerously well. drewbeerme (1664), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 26, 2008 750ml bottle. thanks xnoxhatex for sharing. pours hazy auburn with off whtie head. a rye and toasted malt aroma. flavors are rye, toasted, doughy, some toffee. a bit watery. seems sort of bland and dull to me. cbkschubert (1469), Skyline, Arizona, USA May 21, 2008 750 ml bottle - Pours a hazy brown color with a large off white head.
