| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Amber/Brown pour with a smallish head that quickly fades, very limited lacing... Slightly sweet, subtle earthy hops...I agree that the malts are a bit too sweet, but by and by a good example... riversideAK (2779), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 24, 2008 Brownish orange pour with a nice lasting head and some good lacing. The aroma is pretty sweet and malty, some caramel, toast, chocolate perhaps. Hops are somewhat earthy and sweet - I guess that would be grassy. THe flavor is sweet and malty with a grassy pepper hop finish. I thought the malt profile was too sweet, the finish was decent and bitter though. Eh whatever. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2008 Dark caramel orange brown with a finger of creamy off white head that sits nicely for a while. Big caramel malt, sweet and sticky on the nose. Taste is more an amber than ESB with mostly caramel malt and a light herbal bitterness. bretupdegraff (181), Fishers, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2008 hazy copper pour with a mile white head that quickly disapeared. Aroma of Carmel and chocolate maybe some florals - very malty aroma - taste was grassy and bitter - not a bad flavor - very drinkable - not my favorite style but good nontheless. bblack99 (214), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Bright, copper pour with a nice fluffy head in a tall hefeweizen glass. Great citrus flavor balanced by a bit of spice and bite. Nothing earth-shattering, but a tasty beer nonetheless. Grizzle (50), Lawrence, Kansas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Bottle to pint glass. Darker amber colored. Pours nearly headless. The head looks equivalent to a guy who has splotchy facial hair. It has potential in random spots, but is non existent in others. Not the most aromatic beer, with weaker smells of hops, wildflowers, and maybe a citrus. Even more subtle smells of malt and roasted light grains. The flavor is equally unimpressive. Hops are present, but with an almost watered down quality. Maybe a taste of some light fleshed fruit, pear for example? For an ESB, it is neither special nor bitter, thus certainly not extra of either. hopheaven (85), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Large, long-lasting head with exquisite lacing; spicy, floral hops; toasted caramel and chocolate malts; hop contribution is balanced; abidingly smooth; an all-around good example of the style; sessionable. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Nice deep copper pour. Aroma is malty and rich, with flavor to match. Not overpowered by hops though. Nice ESB style ale.
