Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Had it on draft at longmont. Nice tasting beer. Better as average because of it’s bitter taste.

Bottle, 12oz, at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Gothenburg. A hazy, golden-orange beer with an off-white head. Sugary sweet nose with some beefstock, and piney and tropical hops. Sugary sweet flavor too, with a little note of caramel and beefstock. Umami-like. Piney and tropical hops with some bitterness. Fullbodied initially, but feels watery after a while, the fruits and sugars disappears rather quickly. A well-made 4.8% ABV beer. (080710)

Dark clear amber pour with a good off-white head. Aroma is mostly sweet amber malt – pretty full aroma – just not very complex. The flavor is thin but sweet – amber malt with a slightly bitter hop finish. Medium to light bodied on the palate without much carbonation. Overall: good, but, on the whole, pretty simple.
