Pours amber with a medium head. Malty aroma. Taste is initially malty but then the hops come through. gws57 (1148), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Deep reddish-brown pour with a frothy tan head, nutty nose, balanced flavor. This is a highly quaffable brew. ThunderChicken (10), Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Slightly more hoppy than I would expect from the style, althou8gh the serving temperature was colder than it should be. Malt sweetness is nice.. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2008 (from notes) ESB from Lefthand. Medium amber color, think off white head. Smooth toasted malts, crisp floral hop notes. A tad hoppier than usual for an ESB, but nothing IPA-ish. Quality session brew. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | May 31, 2008 There’s nothing offensive about this beer, so they must have decent quality control at the brewery. BUT, it’s bland as heck, even after letting it "warm up." There’s nothing that stands out about it at all. It’s certainly a beer I could drink all day, which is appropriate for the style, but c’mon... If it was like $6 for a six pack it would be a go-to "dumb" beer, but it’s not worth the $8.99 I paid. It tries to be like Bass (which would be a much better choice), but ends up tasting like a high-quality Miller Lite. WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA

A session beer if there ever was one.
