Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Bottle, Kegs & Barrels, McKinney, TX. Pours a deep clear amber, off-white head with good retention, slight lacing on glass....Aroma has a slight burst of hoppy grapefruit and dark fruit, malt. Flavor is light sweet, nice non-overpowering hoppy grapefruit, malt, with very slight bitter in the end. Palate is medium carbonation, medium mouthfeel.......pretty good stuff!!!!

Now these folks know how to brew a bitter. First sip and I thought I was back in the Midlands holding a real pint of beer. Great balance between the hops and malt that cleanses the palate on every sip. Great deep bronze color and tan head that laces to the bottom. I’ll keep some of this around. I’d love to find it on tap somewhere in Nashville.

Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a medium-sized, white head that lefts generous layers of lacing on the way down. Smell: Dry, crumbly, toasted biscuits seasoned with a good dose of spices. Faroff notes of dried citrus rind and creme caramel. Taste: Toasted biscuit maltiness with a restrained caramel sweetness. Fairly spicy hop character, maybe a hint of citrus, too. Medium bitterness is quite clean. Lingering hoppiness and hint of breadcrusts. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Fine, flavorful ESB from Left Hand.

Bottle. Dark caramel pour with a tan, moderately thick head with large bubbles and decent lacing. Aromas of caramel, toast, milk chocolate, roasty malt, and hops. Strong flavors of caramel and toast up front that lead to a bitter, hoppy finish. Great mouthfeel - nice combination of carbonation and smoothness. I like this ale.

Little carbonation, but GREAT, foamy head. Orange-amber color. Not too much to the aroma. Flavor is mellow, but tasty. Slightly hoppy. Pretty tame, easy to drink. Just enough flavor to keep you from getting too bored.

Bottle. Copper beer with dense beige head. Crisp floral aroma. Soft palate, tastes of caramel with a little bittersweet chocolate. Not very hoppy, clean finish.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a small off white head. Smells of light piney hops and grapefruit citrus. Probably more of the fruity citrus comes through than pine though. Pretty fresh and crisp tasting, although maybe a touch overcarbonated on the palate. The flavor is mostly the same citrus and hop mix. Nothing really different, or interesting for that matter, comes out in the taste. A little bit earthy, with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Pretty uninspiring, but certainly drinkable.
