Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Strong molasses malts, with light chocolate malts, some light hops and a tangy butter, brown sugar aroma. Pour is a frothy, off-white head that goes away completely covering a light amber body. Taste is malty and a bit nutty upfront with some light hop bitterness in the finish. Watery mouthfeel, fizzy carbonation.

Nice deep golden color, small white head. The palate is creamy and the flavor is thick, a nice mellow bitterness on the finish. It’s quite good, but it’s a fairly safe, standard version of an ESB.

Amber/copper color with thin head. A somewhat hoppy citrus nose. Well balanced, smooth biscuit malt flavoring. Not as hoppy as my favorites, but a solid beer. Gonna have to find more left hand offerings.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a dark amber body with a medium off-white head which lingered throughout. Caramel and hops notes in its aroma, with signs of malt. Medium mouthfeel, with moderate bitterness, along with medium carbonation. Good hops flavor with a slight nutty sweetness. Not bad, a little metallic, though not bad at all.

on tap, good somewhat sweet tasting malt, carbonated about right, did not particularly notice the hops that they are talking about, first left hand in some time, usually a good brewery

Bottle. Copper colour, medium head. Slightly smoked aroma. Rather watery palate and bland flavour, without much of a finish. Not bad, but not very good either.

Pours an amber colour with an off-white head. Hoppy on the nose - mostly lemon peel - also some malty caramel notes. Taste is a bit hoppy with some caramel notes. Very thin on the mid-palate! The finish is quite watery with some bitterness. I was a bit disappointed by this one.

Pours light amber brown forming little to no foamy head. Aroma of malts, some hops, a bit of caramel with nut spice. Flavour is of a somewhat typical bitter, malty with some nutty, caramel finish. Not my fave style, but drinkable. Seems like theres some vanilla extract in there too. Overall fair beer, drinkable but not what I would keep in my frig.
